Happy Birthday Daddy

Today is my daddy's birthday. He turned 28 today. He's really old. He's so old he already has gray hair popping up in his beard and he's lost all the hair on his head. The only things left to go are his teeth. But I don't know if it'll happen. My dad told me that his granddaddy my great granddaddy died with all his teeth, so maybe I'll inherit that gene and not lose any of my teeth once I get them. Daddy said I'll at least have to lose my first set of teeth though. For his birthday, I got daddy a bottle of cologne and a ton of candy bars. He really likes Baby Ruths. I know how bad he wanted to open his present so I decided to wake him up at 1 o'clock this morning to give it to him. All I had to do was start crying and he woke up. I think he really appreciated it. For some reason, daddy said sleep is extremely underrated. Don't know what that means. Also for daddy's birthday we have visitors coming. My Uncle Dorrie, Aunt Janice, and cousins Alex and Dyson are on there way here! I cannot wait to meet them. I hope I can stay awake. Well see you guys tomorrow. Later!

Hey Jimmy

This is my second cousin Jimmy. Unbelievably, Jimmy is my mommy's only first cousin that is a male. Out of my mom's 13 first cousins on my Grandma Mac's side, he's the only guy. Everyone else is a girl. So Jimmy, for putting up with all those women you get a special cameo appearance on the blog. I like Jimmy, and as you can see, he really likes me. Mommy told me Jimmy is also a black belt in martial arts. I don't know what that means, but daddy said that if I have any problems with bullies in school Jimmy will have my back. So world watch out because Jet Li and Jackie Chan won't have anything on me after Jimmy's done with me.

Grandpa and Grandma Wheatley

Hey world! Remember me? I went on a short trip to Michigan to meet my Grandma Wheatley, Mary Ann, and more of my family. She's great. I really like her a lot. I also got to fly on a plane for the first time. I didn't even cry. I really like planes. Daddy said that when he was little, he liked to look out the windows and see all the toy cars down below. Dad's a goofball. Mommy also took me to visit my Grandpa Wheatley's grave. He passed away a few years ago from Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS). I sure do wish I would have gotten to meet him, but I'm sure he'll be waiting for me in heaven one day. He did leave me a Howdy Doody watch that he asked mommy to give me whenever I showed up. So ,I'll always have something of his. Well two things of his because I also got my middle name Thomas, from his middle name. He was Clyde Thomas Wheatley. Mommy also told me that he fought in Vietnam and loved to have a good time. Daddy told me a funny story about the first time he met my Grandpa Clyde. He said that he heard my Grandpa was a great hunter so he was scared to meet him because he was a "good shot". Like I said, dad's a goofball. Well, that's all my grandparents. Don't you just love them. Below is a picture of my mommy when she was little, Grandpa and Grandma Wheatley, Aunt Jenny, Uncle John, and Aunt Steph (Yup she has the same name as my mommy. Pretty neat huh.) You can see more pics of my family down below on My First Trip to Michigan.

Pastor GrandDaddy

This is my Granfather, Alonzo Alsabyerdiese (long story I'll share another time) Hinsey. He flew in from Nassau today. I can already tell he's a hoot. He reminds me of a guy I saw on tv the other day. I think his name was Bill Cosby. Daddy said that my cousins Ailayah and Anaiyah came up with the name Pastor GrandDaddy because he pastors a church in the Bahamas . So I guess they put two and two together. Daddy also said this is where the signature Hinsey nose comes from so I guess there's no denying he's my grandfather. GrandDaddy is also an architect by trade and draws blueprints and constructs buildings so I can tell there will be lots I can learn from him. There are so many cool people in my family. I heard I'm going to meet my Uncle Dorrie, Auntie Janice, and cousins Alex and Dyson in a few weeks. I can't wait. Well, take it easy world. I'm 3 weeks old today and loving it.

Father's Day

Sunday was my first day at church. It was Father's Day so I decided to let mommy and daddy take me out for a ride. Mommy was happy that she got to play dress up with me. Daddy said he doesn't know why anyone ever buys anything other than diapers for babies. He said there are tons of clothes I have that I'll never wear because they'll be too small, but you can't ever go wrong with diapers. I've gone through about 80 diapers in less than a week. That's alot of poop. Look on the bright side, at least I'm not constipated.

Anyway, back to church. Daddy got to stand up in church when all the fathers were recognized. He was so proud. He was trying to hide the smile on his face but I saw him. I fell asleep until the guy up at the front started to walk around on the stage and talk to everyone. Then I got fussy and mommy had to take me outside. I'm not ready for the sermons yet. Too many big words. When I went outside, I threw up on mommy and the dried-up prune on my belly disappeared. Mommy said I lost my umbilical cord. She kept it to show to daddy when we got home. Sure am glad that thing is gone. Anyway, I can't wait to go back to church. There were tons of ladies giving me hugs. Daddy said he can already tell I'm going to be a ladies man.

Grandpa Mac

Hey guys. This is my Grandpa Mac. I met him over the weekend. He's really smart and going to help me buy my first car when I get older. I'm going to learn a lot from Granpa Mac. He tells it like it is. I overheard him telling mommy and daddy to say bye-bye to 250,000 bucks because that's how much it will cost to take care of me. Mommy said she'd spend 1 million. She must really love me. My other Grandaddy is coming in on Sunday. I heard that's where the signature Hinsey nose orginated. Well take care and see you guys soon.

Grammie Jessie

Hey guys, I'm back. This lovely lady is my Grammie Jessie. She flew all the way from Nassau, Bahamas just to see me. I must be pretty special. She says I look like my daddy when I cry. We've just been hanging out getting to know each other. She says I like to eat and that I've grown since she's got here. I really do like to eat. Daddy says I get that from mommy. Mommy said daddy's in trouble for saying she likes to eat alot. My folks crack me up. They are so funny. Well I turned two weeks old yesterday and I think my umbilical cord is getting ready to drop off really soon. I sure will be glad to get rid of that ugly little thing. It looks like a mix between a dried up prune and bird poop. Now you see why I want that little thing gone. Anyway, I love you world and can't wait to meet everyone. Take care and see u soon.

Mi Madre

Mommy finally let daddy take a picture of her. Isn't she lovely. Everyone says I look just like her except for my nose. That's from daddy. She feeds me, cuddles with me, and kisses me all the time. All daddy wants to do is wrestle and bounce me around. He'd toss me in the air if mommy let him. Doesn't he realize I'm only 10 days old. Mommy's beginning to realize that I like to sleep during the day and stay up at night. I did the same thing when I was in her belly. I slept all day when she was at work, but when nighttime came around it was time to paaartyy! Daddy's been helping out at night though. He gave me my first bottle yesterday and I sucked that dude down in no time. I heard daddy telling mommy that that milk stuff is liquid gold. Don't know what that means but I'm sure I'll find out when I get older. Well, see you later world. Much more to come.

Bahamianized

Just in case you are wondering what in the world is going on here, I'm getting culturized. Daddy said that in the Bahamas when a baby has the hiccups they tear off a piece of paper, wet it, and then stick it on the baby's forehead. So I guess he decided to try it and see if it works. I guess the idea is that it's supposed to help me focus on something other than the hiccups. Guess what, it worked. Hiccups were gone in less than a minute. You guys should have seen mommy's face when she saw me with paper stuck to my head. Hilarious. People, I know I look goofy, but if it helps get rid of those annoying hiccups, I'll try it. I wonder what other interesting Bahamian remedies daddy has stored in his hat of tricks. I told you me and this daddy guy would have lots of fun together. See ya later, alligators. (just learned that this week too.)

Strolling Down the Street

Today is my one week old birthday. My, how time flies when you're having fun. Mommy and daddy decided to take me for a short stroll down the block today. My pediatrician said it would be good for me to get some vitamin D, whatever that means. Not much has been going on except, eating, sleeping, and pooping. It's pretty funny when I poop because after they clean me I drop another load on them. That's so funny.
My walk was pretty neat. I met some of the
neighbors. They were so amazed that mommy was already out and walking around. My
mommy's one tough cookie. I always hear daddy
talking about how good of a job she did getting me here. Well I'm a week old and growing bigger every day. Daddy says pretty soon I'll be a grandpa. Slow down pops, I haven't even learned any pickup lines yet. Stay tuned I'll be back with more in a few days.
