I'm a Big Bro

Hello World,
As you can see, I'm officially a big brother. Seth Alsabyerdiese Hinsey was born on Dec. 30 at 3:49 p.m. weighing in at a whopping 8 lbs. 15 oz. He's already got me hooked. I don't know if he looks like me yet though. Anyway, since this little guy has decided to invade my space, I guess I have to begin learning to share. With that said, I've created a new blog at http://sammieandseth.blogspot.com. You can keep up with the rest of our story there. I'll leave this page up for a little while, but I'll probably take it down after a while. Ta-Ta for now.

I'm Three

Hey guys,

Can you believe it's already been three years since I entered this world, and you first met me. I turned three on Friday, and I love it. No more baby games for me, I'm a big boy now. I had soo much fun at my party and got lots of presents from lots of great people. It would take too long for me to name all of them, but they know who they are and I just want to say thanks. I loved the bouncy house that mommy and daddy got for me. The only bad part was that it went away today. They didn't tell me that it was only a rental and didn't get to stay in the back yard forever. Oh well, I'm sure I'll find something to do with all the new toys I got.

The best present of all though, is my new kitty. His name is Sisco. He's pretty neat, but he likes to scratch me. Daddy said we can get his scales (mommy says they are claws but I prefer to call them scales), removed in a few weeks so he doesn't tear the house a part. He's already ripped up some of her curtains. Bad Sisco. Jay, my big kitty, is finally getting used to him being around. When we first brought him home, Jay didn't like him at all, but now Sisco runs the show. I think Jay is just happy to have someone that looks like him to play with.

Anyway, I'm interested to see what life as a three year old has in store. I'm pretty independent now so I guess the sky is the limit. There is sooo much out there to learn and not enough time in the day to learn it all, but I can assure you that I'll try to get it all in as soon as I can. That is, however, only if mommy and daddy can keep up with me. I haven't quite mastered the driving thing yet, but I'm well on my way. I only crashed my jeep three times this past week. I think I may have to wait a little longer on that one, but the new bike Bun Bun got me should keep me occupied until then. But even with those training wheels, it's still pretty tough. Anyway, talk to you guys later and hope you enjoy the pictures from my party down below. TTYL.

Suffer the Little Children to Come Unto Me

Mark 10:13- 16 (King James Version) - "13And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. 14But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. 15Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. 16And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them."

Dear God,

I'm sooooo sorry I've been away from the blog for so long. Between daycare and learning how to master the Nintendo Wii, I haven't had much time to update everyone on how life has been as a two year old. I've heard people say that being two is "terrible", but I think it's been the best year of my life. No more poopy diapers. I get to eat chocolate and ice cream a lot more. And no more crib. I can get out of my bed whenever I want. Anyway, Daddy says that now that JBU's basketball season is almost over, he'll help me keep everyone updated on my life in Arkansas more often. So I hope everyone is looking forward to more updates. In Jesus' name I pray. AAAMEN.

13 feet to the bottom - don't look down.

Today was the first time I got to jump off a diving board. I was kind of scared at first, but mommy and daddy did it so I had to do it. Mommy is way better at diving that daddy is. Mommy looked graceful when she did it, and let's just say daddy didn't. It was really fun. Mommy and daddy said we are going to have to make it a Sunday event. I'm looking forward to it.

It's A Hard Knock Life

Man guys summer is almost gone. Can you believe it? Pretty soon my days of playing golf and hanging out at the pool will be over. But that just means that Christmas is right around the corner. I can't wait for all the goodies that come along with Christmas and the SNOWWW! Well a few more days and mommy goes back to work, which means no more getting out of daycare early for me. Oh well, all good things must come to an end.

Junkanoo Rush

Today Daddy decided to help me get culturized to Junkanoo. For all my non-Bahamian viewers out there, it's a Bahamian Christmas and New Year's party where people dress in costumes and dance to the beat of goat skin drums, cowbells, trumpets, and whistles. Daddy and mommy and grammie and granddaddy went to the New Year's parade when mommywas between 4-5 months pregnant with me. I can still remember hearing the music and feeling the vibrations from the drums and trumpets. It was great. Anyway, daddy and I couldn't find goat skin drums or cowbells so we had to improvise. I love this stuff. 242 all the way.

It's Pool Time

Hey guys,

Ever since I got back from Nassau, I've been in love with the water. Unfortunately, we don't have any beaches up here so I have to just make due with the pool. What a tough life. Me and daddy go to the pool almost everyday. I used to be scared to get my face wet, but now I realize it's so much fun to put my head under water. Everything looks so neat down there. I like when daddy puts those weird looking glasses on and goes underneath the water with me. He looks goofy in those things. He said that one day I'll get to wear them too. I hope they have something else invented by then though. Anyway, daddy even lets me jump in, but I have to have my floaties on. The other day I decided NOT to heed his fatherly advice and jump in without my floaties. Guess what - I did not float. I was able to stay on the top by kicking my feet, but I got tired after a while and started to go down. Daddy quickly came to my rescue though. He's the man. Anyway, by next summer I hope I won't need those floaties anymore. Maybe then daddy will let me do a front flip off his shoulders. Oh one more thing, I got rid of my "BABY" (the pacifer) this week. Mommy was out of town at a conference so daddy decided it was time for me to put away childish things and man up. So when daddy put me down for my night time siesta, he told me that I was a big boy and didn't need BABY anymore. It was tough I tell ya - TUFF. But after a little "sole" searching (kicking my crib) I survived and finally fell asleep. I knew I could do it. Well, take care guys. It's mommy's time to put me down tonight. Maybe I can sucker her into giving me BABY. hehehe.

Future Major Leaguer???

And he only just turned two years old. The second one was a bad pitch by mommy :)

I'm Two

Hey everyone,

Since the last time we spoke so much has happened. I met my Goddie Kendy, and I went to the Bahamas with my daddy and then came back and turned two years old. This past weekend we went to Tulsa to spend time with Gabriella and Nichy and Morgan. She's two too. "Two too" (hahaha that's sounds funny). Being two is so much fun. Someone said that it was terrible, but I don't think it's terrible at all. It's great. In Nassau I swam in the ocean two times. The water was sooo pretty. I also had an early birthday party with all my cousins. That was a lot of fun. I got a nice tan while I was down there, but boy was it hot. In Tulsa, we went to the zoo and got to see lots of animals. My favorite was the monkey even though I was scared of it. They're too fast. Well back to the grind tomorrow. I have to go to work in the morning. Now that I'm two, I have responsibilities at daycare, like picking up the toys and practicing my numbers and ABC's. Still working on this potty training thing too. It has it's pros and cons. Hope you guys are doing great. Enjoy the pics.

Long Time - No See

Hey everyone,

Sorry I've been away for so long. Things have been crazy. Time has been flying by. This growing up thing is nuts. There is so much to learn. Since the last time we spoke, I've learned that my name is Sammie. I've also learned my colors, and I've learned how to con mommy and daddy into giving me what I want, but I still have yet to master the great white throne. Sometimes I make it and sometimes I don't. Oh well, I guess that's why God created diapers. Well now that daddy is getting ready to go on summer vacation, he said he'll help me keep the blog updated. I tried to do it by myself but I don't know how to spell yet so that created somewhat of a problem. Well, come back when you have a chance. We have lots to talk about. Later.

More of the White Stuff

So we got more snow on Friday. It was great. Everything was white. Me and mommy made snow angels and daddy and I tried to make a snowman, but daddy said the snow wasn't wet enough. It seemed really wet to me. Oh well. That snow stuff is really yummy. Mommy let me eat it but she said to be careful not to eat any yellow snow. Don't know what that means either but I made sure not to do it. I think we are going to try to make vanilla snow ice cream today and make another attempt at the snow man. Anyway, I'm headed outdoors. Talk to you later. Hey daddy, WAIT FOR ME!!!!!

Christmas Recap

Hey everyone,

I just finished recuperating from the holidays and thought I'd share. I had a great time. I got to spend time with my Grammie and Grandaddy from Nassau. They flew up here with my Auntie Laurie and my Uncle Dorrie and Aunt Janice drove from Cincinnati with my cousins Alex and Dyson.

We had soo much fun. We played lots of games and other than me and Dyson fighting over Buzz Lightyear and Elmo everything was great. I ate so much good food. I can't wait to go back to the Bahamas.

We all got lots of presents and played the Wii. I love that thing. It's addicting.
Grammie also celebrated her birthday on Christmas Eve. She was soo happy she started to cry.

It even snowed for Christmas day. What more can you ask for. Family, food, toys, and snow. I hope every Christmas is this much fun.

The Perfect Form

We went to Chuck E. Cheese's yesterday and I got to shoot some hoops. Check out the form. I learned that from my mommy. Daddy says it's from him but ask him who won the last game of HORSE between him and mommy! hehehe. As easy as putting your hand in the cookie jar.

Bye bye leaves

Hey everybody,

So all the leaves decided to disappear of the trees and magically reappear on the ground. That's pretty neat. The only thing is that once all the leaves reappeared on the ground, they decided to stay there and not magically reappear in the trash bag. Daddy said that the leaves need to work on their magic tricks. Since they haven't quite mastered that art yet, it meant that Jay and I had the task of raking up all the leaves and putting them in the trash bags ourselves. These parents are starting me off early. Isn't child labor a crime. Mommy said hard work builds character. But I say all work and no play makes for a boring life, so of course we had to have to some fun along the way. Enjoy the pics.

17 Months Old

Hey guys,

I just turned 17 months old last week. My - time is flying. A lot has happened since we last spoke two months ago. The most obvious is that I've gotten older of course. A few weeks ago we had a group of about 10 college students from Nassau over to the house and we threw down Bahamian style. Like daddy says, it was time to mash. We played dominoes and monopoly and ate peas n' rice, fried chicken, baked chicken, ribs, colesaw, macaroni, potatoe salad, beets, brownies, coconut creame pie, and a number one Bahamian speciality - Cool Aid. It was great. I never had so much fun in my life. We were dancing to junkanoo and listening to reggae. That's some pretty cool music if I do say so myself. I love my island roots.

I also learned how to do situps by helping daddy work on his abs. My dad is such a stud. Well at least he thinks he is, but both he and I know who the real boss in the house is. That's right it's starts with an M and end with a Y, MY MOMMY. I love that lady sooooo much. I don't know what I'd do without her. Daddy is cool and all, but mommy is just mommy. She dressed me up for Halloween and we went trick or treating last night. I got lots of candy. But I couldn't eat all of it. Guess what I was for Halloween. A COW!!! Last year a duck, this year a cow. What's next? I guess next year, I'll at least get promoted to Old McDonald.

Anyway, mommy and daddy have been working hard over the past few months, and we've all been fighting sinus infections. So we've all been really tired. I also got my first flu shot. I hope it works because I've heard horror stories about the flu.

Anyway, daddy said Mar (my greatgrandmother) was in the hospital last week so wants everyone to pray for her so that she'll get better so I can go to the Bahamas and see her again. I like Mar. Daddy says i look like her. I think he may be right.

Well tata for now and enjoy the pics. I love BROWNIES.
